How to Make a Music Video Using an iPad

Two-day workshop for rising filmmakers ages 10-25

Please join us for a fun, creative two-day workshop on how to make a music video using an iPad! Working with prominent film and TV professionals, students will learn about the integral elements of making a music video, from storyboarding to editing. At the end of the workshop, we will have a group screening of the videos created by students.

This is an excellent opportunity for young filmmakers, ages 10 to 25, to learn from distinguished filmmakers. Instructors include Ken Topolsky, Stan Cassio, Gene Mederos, Tina Presley-Borek, Sam Beam, and Marisa X. Jimenez. Please see their bios below to learn more.

Participants must attend both days.

Check in at 9:30am. Class starts at 10am.

Workshop Instructors

Sam Beam - Sam Beam has spent 25 years working exclusively in New Mexico as a videographer, press photographer, live announcer, commercial producer, music video producer and sound engineer for local. national. and international productions.

Stan Cassio - Stan Cassio is the owner and managing partner of NewEdit, Mango, and the Loft. Some of the projects on which he has been involved are The SimpsonsOne Tree HillEntourageHarry PotterLara CroftHangover, Big Bang Theory, and Homeland.

Ken Topolsky - Ken Topolsky is a producer, director, and music production manager. He has been a producer on shows including Kidnapped, MDs, Scoundrels, Mad Dogs, and the relaunch of Dallas. Topolsky's directing credits include Party of Five, its spinoff series Time of Your Life, and The Wonder Years.

Gene Mederos - Gene Mederos is a filmmaker and animator living and working in Santa Fe, where he teaches post-production at Santa Fe Community College and is the chair of New Mexico Film Resource, a nonprofit dedicated to creating film jobs for film students in New Mexico. Gene's films have appeared in festivals in New Mexico, LA, Boston, Toronto, and NYC.

Marisa Xochtl Jimenez - Marisa Xochtl Jimenez has been Executive Director of Stagecoach Foundation since it opened its doors in March 2017. She is a SAG-AFTRA dancer, actress and stunt woman. She has organized numerous educational workshops for local residents and sponsored many speaker and art events. Ms. Jimenez has been in the film/entertainment industry since 2006 and has a broad range of experience in production and post-production.

Tina Presley-Borek - Tina Presley-Borek is the owner of Albuquerque-based full-service SAG-AFTRA franchised agency Presley Talent NM. The collective of artists represented by Presley Talent have appeared in films and series including Star Wars, The Incredible HulkBreaking Bad, Better Call SaulLongmire, American Horror Story Roanoke, and many more.

Erick Castillo - Erick Castillo is a filmmaker and International Cinematographers Guild member. He has over 60 feature, commercial, and independent film credits. His short films have been distributed through Shorts TV, the only channel dedicated to short films reaching a worldwide audience. His most recent short film, Pareidolia, won the 2018 Best Drama award at the New Mexico filmmakers showcase.
